Leicestershire County Council Social Services department have given the Parent & Carer Council sole responsibility for the administration of the Take a Break Scheme to county Carers who care for children/young people under 19 years of age. The scheme provides a one-off payment to parent/carers living in Leicestershire

You qualify for the grant if:-

You are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (High or Middle rate Care component or High rate Mobility) for your child

You do not receive any other services from Social Services (i.e Respite, Home Care, Nursery funding or transport or 52 week out -of -county placement)

You have not received any services funded by Social Services within the previous 12 months.

The grant can now be used towards the cost of a family holiday.
